A Solid N64 Emulator Is Now Available on Xbox One

The Xbox One is on a roll right now. Thanks to the miracle of UWP apps, Xbox One owners are discovering that their consoles are good for more than just Halo and Forza . In fact, we may be looking at the next go-to console for emulation. Step aside, Wii! Just weeks after a host of 8 and 16-bit emulators became playable on the Xbox One via NESBox, a Nintendo 64 emulator has appeared on the Xbox Games Store as well.

Win63e10 is a modified version of Mupen64plus. It’s been available on Windows Phones and Windows 10 for a while, and Destructoid just noticed that it’s made its way to the Xbox Games Store. Mupen64 has long been the go-to for reliable N64 emulation. The Nintendo 64 is notoriously difficult to emulate because of its unorthodox architecture, so the fact that we have a way to play these games on our Xbox Ones is pretty amazing. We’ll see how long it lasts.
