Shovel Knight dug a hole straight through the center of our chests and stole the most valuable treasure of all: our hearts. Ever since the chivalrous shoveler made his debut back in 2014, his fame and fan-base have been steadily growing. As developer Yacht Club Games continues work on Shovel Knight’s second expansion, Specter of Torment , the team took a quick break to reveal another exciting (and rather unexpected) announcement:
“We’re super excited to announce the blue fellow with horns will be teaming up with the green bloke with no pants! That’s right- Shovel Knight will be digging in to the highly anticipated 3D platforming collect-em-up, Yooka-Laylee! The blue borrower is quite the chameleon these days, showing up in so many cool games, he’ll surely fit right in! We’re so ecstatic for this collaboration between Yacht Club Games and Playtonic Games!”
Fans of Shovel Knight were likely already looking forward to Yooka-Laylee . Both were made possible by highly successful Kickstarter campaigns, and both make promises to revive old-school gameplay in fresh and exciting ways.
