Sunset Overdrive is a bit like Demon’s Souls in that it never reached huge levels of critical success, but fans swear by it. The general consensus is that once you get used to the controls, this is the best free-roaming game on Xbox One. Some have even gone so far as to say that it’s the best superhero game ever made! Sunset Overdrive never had a chance to appeal to the masses, as it was an Xbox One exclusive. We’d love to see it come to PC and, as it turns out, Insomniac would love that too.
A fan tweeted to Insomniac asking if there would be any chance of seeing Sunset Overdrive on PC. Insomniac responded by saying that, ultimately, the ball is in Microsoft’s court. “We’d love for it to come to PC, though it’s up to Xbox on that one.” Insomniac does own the IP, but Microsoft is the game’s publisher. Hopefully with the Play Anywhere initiative in full swing, the folks at Microsoft will see this as a chance to generate some goodwill. It’d be a day-one purchase for me, I know that much.
