Rumor: Destiny 2 Coming to PC, Big Changes on the Way

A NeoGAF poster revealed that, according to a friend of his who works at Activision, Destiny 2 will be coming to PCs. Multiple sources have corroborated and confirmed that statement with Kotaku and Eurogamer as well, so it seems like a pretty sure bet. Speaking of Kotaku, it’s published a really interesting peek into at Destiny 2 ‘s development, and it sounds like Bungie is making some radical changes. Destiny 2 is going to be a completely different game, and that might mean that we have to make some sacrifices.

There’s a possibility that in order for Bungie to attain its goals and bring its vision to fruition, that several things from the first Destiny may have to be left behind – including our characters. Originally it was planned for players to maintain their Guardians over the course of Destiny’s entire decade-long run, but that may no longer be the case.

It was also mentioned that Bungie plans to add spaces that include social areas and adventuring areas, thus eliminating the need to go through a series of menus in order to transfer from one to the other. “Towns” and “outposts” are mentioned, so this could be taking a turn toward a more traditional RPG model in that regard. It was noted that Destiny 2 would focus more aggressively on the Cabal and on Saturn, and that storytelling would assume higher priority. Take a look at the full report and see what you think.
