Nidhogg was a neat swordfighting game that looked like it belonged on an Atari 2600 and played like Westley and Inigo’s sword fight from The Princess Bride . That is to say, it was a great competitive game and tons of fun. Nidhogg 2 has been announced and it looks a little different.
Nidhogg 2 is still a game about two characters battling it out. Except now, the fighters look like pixelated versions of Clayfighters rejects in more brutal brawls. There will be 10 levels, new moves, weapons like axes, bows, knives, and swords, music from people like Daedeus, Dose One, and Mux Mool, and gore.

I’m not a fan of the new art direction or of the addition of extra weapons. I liked how Nidhogg put people on equal footing. One Nidhogg 2 level will be playable at Twitch Con 2016.
