New NES Mini Trailer Reveals CRT Mode, Easy Save States

New NES Mini Trailer Reveals CRT Mode, Easy Save States

Nintendo has released a new trailer showcasing the NES Classic Edition (NES Mini), and this thing is looking more adorable and more functional than ever. Old-schoolers will be pumped to know that a CRT filter option is available to make these games look authentically dated. We have a few display options, actually. “With the CRT filter, a scan-line effect is added to the screen to give everything that oh-so-retro look and feel. 4:3 is a sharp, clean look that adheres to the original aspect ratio used by the NES. And when playing in Pixel Perfect mode, every pixel is shown as a perfect square, providing the most accurate representation of the games as they were originally designed.”

Save states are really intuitive and easy to work with as well. On the console itself, whenever you press the reset button your current game state will be frozen and you’ll have the option to save it in a save state slot. Each game has four save slots available, and you can switch them and overwrite them at any time. Retro gaming has never been so easy! Check out the trailer below:
