Mafia III PC Frame Rate Patch Coming This Weekend

Mafia III PC Frame Rate Patch Coming This Weekend

Mafia III is finally here, and most of you are loving it. Most of the people who aren’t enjoying the game are likely playing it on PC. The PC port was a little rushed, and it didn’t take long for players to realize that the frame rate is locked at 30 FPS. This is a big no-no for PC gamers, many of whom spend well in excess of $1,000 on high-end rigs in order to play the latest games, on the highest settings, at uncapped frame rates (or at least 60 FPS minimum).

2K has been getting slammed by angry PC players for Mafia III ‘s half-baked port, and it was quick to roll out the damage control. 2K assured us that graphics and display options are very important to them, and that they’ve been working on it all along (of course). A patch will be going live this weekend, if all goes well, to appease the frame rate snobs. “We currently have a patch running here at the studio that includes 30, 60, and unlimited frames-per-second options in the video menu, among other improvements for the PC version of Mafia III,” 2K said in an announcement on Steam. Hopefully everything rolls out on time.

Here at Cheat Code Central, we’re busy playing Mafia III for review. Stay tuned for our opinions early next week!
