Gears of War 4 In-Game Currency Adjusted

Gears of War 4 In-Game Currency Adjusted

Gears of War 4 has something of a microtransaction system. People have the option to spend either in-game credits or real cash on Gear Packs, which will give them purely cosmetic or bonus items. Apparently, people took issue with how much money they were earning from matches and the price of packs. Based on fan feedback, The Coalition has changed the game.

First, you’ll earn more bonus credits for playing. Both winners and losers receive in-game credits for match completion, and the Versus Multiplayer bonus has been increased. The Coalition didn’t say by exactly how much, however. In addition, the Elite Packs now cost 3,500 credits. They used to be 4,000 credits.

The Coalition also committed to fixing a Gears of War 4 bug. People noticed the game was saying they weren’t earning any Match Bonus credits. The game is actually awarding the credits, but just isn’t saying it has. That will be fixed in the patch, so it’ll stop driving you nuts.

I think this is one of the only times I’ve heard of a company reducing in-game currency costs for a resource. Good on The Coalition for trying to make Gears of War 4 better for the players.
