PlayStation Tournaments Appearing Under PS4 Events

PlayStation Tournaments Appearing Under PS4 Events

Sony is going to make it easier for PlayStation 4 owners to compete. It turns out it will be partnering with the ESL to offer tournaments under the Events UI header. Someone with the console only has to make an ESL account, subscribe to PlayStation Plus, have an applicable game, and sign up when tournaments are accepting participants. You’ll then be able to compete against other PS4 owners for prizes.

NBA 2K17 will be the first PS4 game to get a tournament. People can register now, then compete in Major Cup rounds each Saturday between October 27 and November 26. When the tournament ends on November 26, the three best players will get a prize pack that has a DualShock 4 controller and other gifts.

This is a really great way to get people involved in a competitive scene who wouldn’t normally think about entering. Sony and the ESL are streamlining the experience and making it more accessible, which could result in some really interesting competitions!
