Skyrim Remaster Mods Have an Edge on Xbox One

Skyrim Remaster Mods Have an Edge on Xbox One

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition is coming out this week. PlayStation 4 and Xbox One owners are going to have access to the game on their systems for the first time, and it’s going to be a definitive edition with all the DLC, some prettier pictures, and eventually even mods. Yet, it looks like one version may have an edge. The Xbox One iteration may be the one to grab, if mods matter.

Here’s the deal. Both the PS4 and Xbox One version of Skyrim will support mods. The problem is how many mods they’ll support. The Xbox One version will have 5GB worth of space for mods, but the PS4 one will only offer 1GB of space for these extra add-ons.

This makes some sense and we should have expected it. Remember, Fallout 4 mods on the Xbox One have 2GB of space, while PS4 ones only have 900MB to take up. On the other hand, the Xbox One versions of both games’ mods will allow external assets, while the PS4 ones won’t. Textures can take up quite a bit of space.

Worse case scenario, you’ll have to do quite a bit of deleting as you look for the mods you really do or don’t need for whichever version of Skyrim remastered you get.
