Pokemon GO Halloween Event Kicks Off Wednesday

Pokemon GO Halloween Event Kicks Off Wednesday

Niantic and The Pokemon Company want to celebrate Halloween with you guys, so they’re kicking off Pokemon GO’s first ever in-game event this Wednesday. Players will soon be able to band together to do some genuine ghost hunting. “Beginning Wednesday, October 26, through Tuesday, November 1, Pokémon GO Trainers will have the chance to catch some of the spookiest Pokémon available in the game with increased global encounters of Drowzee, Gastly, Gengar, Golbat, Haunter, Hypno, and, yes, Zubat.”

Of course it wouldn’t be Halloween without candy, right? In addition to all of the ghostly Pokemon haunting your neighborhood, you’ll get the chance to earn more Pokemon Candy as you hunt and explore. Capturing a Pokemon during the event period will earn trainer six candies instead of the usual three, and Pokemon transfers will earn two candies instead of one. Additionally, Buddy Pokemon will now award you four candies instead of the usual one.

That’s a lot of candy, so lapsed trainers eager to power up some of their favorite pocket monsters will want to boot the game back up this Wednesday and start raking in the goods. As for me, I’m on a mission to capture Gengar.
