FF XV May Get Enhanced PS4 Pro Support After Launch

FF XV May Get Enhanced PS4 Pro Support After Launch

Final Fantasy XV is just over a month away, at this point. After a decade of development and an almost two-month delay, it’s finally shaping up the way director Hajime Tabata envisioned. We know that the game will be required to take advantage of the PS4 Pro’s additional power at launch, but Tabata stated in a recent interview that those enhancements are taking a back seat right now. When asked about a PC version Tabata stated that while it’s something they’d like to do, their full focus and attention is on finishing the core game for consoles at the moment. He’s thinking about PS4 Pro upgrades the same way.

“About the PS4PRO, it’s basically the same thing about the PC – if we wanted to take full advantage of the new hardware that would mean putting in much effort and time to make the game look and run better…and time is something we don’t have right now neither we had foreseen the PS4Pro existence before. In the future, with some dedication and time maybe we can get a PS4Pro version of the game that can take advantage of the systems capabilities. But as of right now the game has maxed out the PS4 horsepower.”

This is really encouraging to me and, I’d imagine, the tens of millions of PS4 and Xbox One owners out there. While we’d certainly love to see enhanced versions of the game running on high-end PCs and PS4 Pros later on, right now there are 40+ million PS4 owners who just want the game to look and run great on their current consoles when it comes out November 29.
