Development Is Done on Evolve Stage 2

Poor Evolve . You really have to pity the game. 2K Games and Turtle Rock Studios had such high hopes for the simultaneously competitive and cooperative experience. Alas, it’s hit what might be a new low. 2K has announced development on Evolve Stage 2 , the free-to-play version, is complete, Turtle Rock has been taken off of it, and this seems like it could really be the end.

Since Evolve Stage 2 is now an in-house game, 2K’s focus has shifted. It will be maintaining the current PC experience, while still considering bringing the free-to-play version to consoles. Turtle Rock is completely off of it and says it accepts this fate, as it’s just something that happens when a developer doesn’t own its own IP. It wishes more could have been done, but promises more games.

I think we all knew this was inevitable. Evolve has been plagued by problems. It’s always had an issue maintaining an audience. It’s a shame things had to end this way, and hopefully people weren’t getting too invested in the free-to-play experience.
