Uncharted Movie Has a Director Again

Uncharted Movie Has a Director Again

There’s more Uncharted movie news! It’s, well, actually a little thrilling. It turns out the film is being fast tracked by Sony, which might mean it has a better chance of being made. In addition to having a script from Joe Carnahan, it’s now on its fourth director! Shawn Levy has joined the project.

Yes, Uncharted has already had three other directors come and go. David O. Russell, Neil Burger, and Seth Gordon have all come and gone. Levy is known for directing Night at the Museum, Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian, Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb, The Internship, This is Where I Leave You, Just Married, and the remakes of The Pink Panther and Cheaper by the Dozen . That’s… quite a track record. Huh.

Of course, none of this means anything without a cast. There’s none. Filming hasn’t begun. Directors have fallen through before, so the fact that someone new has signed on and Sony’s throwing around terms like “fast tracking” doesn’t guarantee actual progress.
