Gears of War 4’s Halloween Event Has Begun

Gears of War 4’s Halloween Event Has Begun

Tis the season for every game to get spooky. Or spoopy, if you prefer. Even though Gears of War 4 just came out, it’s getting in the Halloween spirit. Until November 1, a Halloween event is on! That means a themed playlist with adjusted gameplay and, as you can expect, more microtransaction gear packs.

Once you log in to Gears of War 4 today, you’ll start seeing the changes. A Pumpkin Ball Dodgeball Events playlist will be available. It uses the Fallout, Forge, Harbor, Impact, and Lift maps and adds Pumpkin Heads with new mouths and bonus XP. It’s designed to move quicker for the season and be scarier, as it will only take one second to respawn and protection after returning to the game is going to be much shorter than usual. Halloween Elite Packs will also be available. There will be at least one Epic or Legendary card in each pack, with the Legendary one being a Day of the Dead item.

I have a feeling this Halloween Elite Pack is going to bring in a lot of money. Those improved Epic and Legendary odds are rather nice. I’m not sure how well that altered Dodgeball mode will go. Regular Gears of War 4 Dodgeball is pretty great as it is.
