inFamous: Second Son Is Now PS4 Pro-Ready

inFamous: Second Son was my first experience with the series, and as far as PS4 launch window titles go, it’s among the best. I was captivated by its vision of Seattle, and spent more time than is probably healthy super-leaping around the city, taking in the virtual sights. It also made me desperately want to visit the city’s real-life counterpart and hang out at a harborside cafe at dawn, but… I’m getting off track here.

Sucker Punch has released patches for both inFamous: Second Son and its standalone spin-off, inFamous: First Light, that add HDR support and 4K TV compatibility. These updates prepare both games for the launch of the upcoming PS4 Pro, and if you have an HDR-compatible display, you’ll already be able to see a difference in their visual fidelity. The patch for Second Son is 3.6GB, while First Light ‘s is 2.5GB, so you’ll want to allocate space on your hard drive accordingly. The patches don’t add anything in terms of gameplay features, so you may want to hold off on downloading them if you aren’t interested in the visual upgrade.

I’ve long since sold my copy of Second Son , but I admit I’m tempted to find a cheap copy and see how much better the game looks now. Maybe I’ll finally get around to playing First Light.
