The Last of Us Part II Has More for Us to Do

The Last of Us Part II Has More for Us to Do

The Last of Us wasn’t really the last of us. Joel and Ellie are coming back. At the 2016 PlayStation Experience, The Last of Us Part II was announced. It all came down to a trailer. We see a young woman playing a guitar and singing in a room. Suddenly, she becomes familiar. It’s Ellie, and she’s injured. Joel appears, and Ellie tells him she wants revenge. It’s then that the course is clear, a new The Last of Us is on the way.

And that’s all we really know. PSX 2016 was mainly a means of announcing it. All Naughty Dog revealed is that Ellie is the playable protagonist, the game takes place five years after The Last of Us’ ending, and Gustavo Santaolalla is returning as the composer.

Want to see how Ellie and Joel are looking? Here’s the first The Last of Us Part II trailer.

We needed this. The Last of Us left off on such a cliffhanger. This is going to give us closure. While it might not provide an answer and relief from the Cordyceps infection, maybe we’ll see Ellie and Joel’s relationship grow and change.
