You Can Now Acquire New Pokemon in Pokemon Go

We thought it might never happen, but Niantic has finally added new creatures to global smash hit Pokemon Go. The new Pokemon are from Pokemon Gold & Silver , the second generation in the long-running series.

You won’t be able to capture the entire Johto roster, however; only a select few were added in the latest update. The pre-evolutions of Jigglypuff and Clefairy, Igglybuff and Cleffa, can now hatch out of 2km eggs. Pichu and Togepi come from 5km eggs, while the elusive Elekid, Magby, and Smoochum come from 10km eggs. Looks like you’ll be doing a lot of walking to add these elusive baby Pokemon to your collection.

For a limited time – until December 29 at 10:00 AM PST, to be price – you may also encounter a Pikachu wearing a Santa hat in the wild. It even keeps its hat when it evolves into Raichu. Adorable! According to developer Niantic, these additions are only a glimpse of what’s coming to Pokemon Go in the following months. It sounds like the rest of the Gold & Silver lineup is coming soon.
