The Amazing Spider-Man Pulls Off a Disappearing Act

The Amazing Spider-Man Pulls Off a Disappearing Act

Let’s be brutally honest here. Sometimes, games based on movies suck. That doesn’t mean we want them to go away forever, though. Unfortunately, that’s something that seems to have happened to one of Marvel’s most iconic heroes. The Amazing Spider-Man and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 , based on the 2012 and 2014 movies respectively, are gone from digital storefronts.

The delistings happened without notice. One day, The Amazing Spider-Man and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 were on the PlayStation Store, Wii U eShop, and Xbox One Store. The next, they were gone. Immediately after, the Xbox 360 and PC versions disappeared from the Xbox Store and Steam. If you didn’t already buy a digital copy, it’s impossible now.

But why has this happened? It’s simple. Activision lost the Spider-Man license. That means the games have to disappear. If you can be patient, Insomniac is working on that Spider-Man PlayStation 4 game. That looks pretty promising!
