The Binding of Isaac has released so many times and on so many different platforms that it’s hard to keep track of what’s what. Series creator Edmund McMillen’s signature aesthetic – a mixture of macabre and disgusting – is in its purest form in this addictive shooter/roguelike hybrid, and now you can enjoy(?) it from the comfort of… well, anywhere, really.
Now available on iOS, The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth is a remake of the original Isaac with a suite of new features. These include a new game engine that runs at 60FPS, an all-new soundtrack, 2-player local co-op, over 450 items, Bluetooth controller support, and much more. The game’s iTunes page gleefully lists “poop physics!” as a selling point, so you probably have an idea of what you’re getting into.
You can purchase the iOS version of The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth for $15. On the console and PC end of things, you can pick up the new Afterbirth+ expansion, with over 55 new items and a new final chapter, among other additions. Gross! Fun! Gross and fun!
