Beta Signups Open for Next PS4 Firmware Update

Beta Signups Open for Next PS4 Firmware Update

Sony’s always working to add new functionality to the PlayStation 4 with firmware updates, and while most are of the unremarkable “improvements to system stability” variety, some are more substantial. Update 4.00 added features like folders, the Quick Menu, and more.

So what’s next? It’s anyone’s guess at this point, but you can be among the first to find out. How? Head over to this website to sign up for the System Software 4.5 beta. This won’t guarantee you entry into the program, but if you’re selected, you’ll have a chance to test its new features ahead of the official launch, whenever that is. I know people have been requesting the ability to change your PSN ID for a long time, so hopefully that’s among the scheduled changes.

Signups are open until the beta begins in early February, so you’ve still got some time to get your registration in. It’s a pretty simple process, so why not head over to the site and put your name in the magic hat?
