Atlus Announces New Shin Megami Tensei for Switch

Atlus Announces New Shin Megami Tensei for Switch

Nintendo’s Switch conference rolled onward last night with no shortage of exciting announcements. Fans of Japanese games and RPGs in particular have a lot to look forward to in the coming year, thanks in no small part to companies like Atlus, which announced a new Shin Megami Tensei project at the event.

Unveiled by way of a brief teaser, Shin Megami Tensei Brand New Title (which is not its final title, obviously) is being developed on Unreal Engine 4. It will, of course, feature many of the gods and demons who have appeared throughout the series, including the incarnation of Odin that played a major role in Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse. The teaser is located just below.

I don’t know about you, but I nearly shrieked when I saw the Nocturne -inspired footage during the stream last night. Those shadowy demons and their glowing eyes tickled my nostalgia bone something fierce. Atlus USA has acknowledged the existence of this new title, but has not yet confirmed a localization.
