We’ve received word that Nioh , Team Ninja’s Japanese-mythology-inspired alternative to Dark Souls , has gone gold . The news comes following alpha and beta demos that incorporated fan feedback at each stage of development, and now Nioh is set to receive another fan-requested feature after launch: PvP.
The mode will be added via a free update shortly after launch. In the meantime, you can use other players’ character data to summon AI controlled opponents for practice duels. Nioh was reportedly designed to be extremely difficult, so a PvP mode could either continue that trend or be a welcome respite from the hordes of supernatural foes bearing down on you throughout the main campaign.
Nioh will release for PlayStation 4 on February 9. We recommend you take some deep breaths before you dive in.
