Wii U Version of LOZ: Breath of the Wilds Needs 3GB of Space

Wii U Version of LOZ: Breath of the Wilds Needs 3GB of Space

People with Wii Us are going to need to make space for what could be the console’s last game. Nintendo made a The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild announcement. It turns out the game actually has a mandatory install! If you buy the physical version, you need to have 3GB of space on your system or its external hard drive to play the game.

This is unusual, as it’s the first mandatory install for the Wii U. Previously, Xenoblade Chronicles X allowed you to download loading packs from the eShop, but these were optional add-ons that improved performance. Nintendo also notes that USB flash drives aren’t recommended for this install.

I’m surprised this didn’t happen more often with the Wii U, to be honest. Mandatory installs are a fact of gaming life now. That it’s unusual on the Wii U is rather odd on its own. Also, 3GB of space isn’t too bad. You should have more than enough room for this bad boy.
