If you’re as big of a fan of Final Fantasy Tactics as I am, this news should tickle your fancy. Hitoshi Sakimoto’s legendary soundtrack for Tactics is among its most celebrated elements, and a collective of fans-turned-musicians have come together to create a tribute to it called Zodiac: Final Fantasy Tactics Remixed.
This massive album, published by Materia Collective, contains 63 tracks that add up to over four hours of music. These cover a wide variety of style from dramatic opera and swinging jazz to something called “insolent chicken choir.” Whatever it is, I’m sure it’s… memorable. All told, the album features contributions from 100 artists from the game music community, which is a pretty damn impressive achievement considering how much difficulty I have herding four adult humans together for my weekly D&D campaign.
