Tokyo Xanadu eX+ Headed West this Year

Tokyo Xanadu eX+ Headed West this Year

Sometimes I get to write particularly self-indulgent news stories, and this is one of them. As a huge fan of all things by Japanese developer Nihon Falcom, I was pleased when I heard last year that action-RPG Tokyo Xanadu was heading to North America in 2017. However, when an updated version for PlayStation 4 called Tokyo Xanadu eX+ was subsequently revealed, I was a little sad to think that we might not be getting the definitive version of the game.

In swoops Aksys to save the day: The company is not only localizing Tokyo Xanadu for PC and PlayStation Vita, but also Tokyo Xanadu eX+ for PS4. Both games will release both digitally and physically, including two different limited editions. Tokyo Xanadu drops for Vita this Summer with a 5″ Deluxe Morimaru Plush, a Blade Card Game Deck, a 60-page Art Book, and a CD Soundtrack, all in a Collector’s Box. Tokyo Xanadu ex+ arrives in the Fall and trades the Morimaru Plush for a 9″ Deluxe White Shroud statue in its limited edition.

These dungeon-crawling adventures combine action gameplay with the relationship-building elements of games like Persona . The PS4 version adds a new playable character as well as new monsters, modes, and dungeons. No pricing or specific release dates have been announced for either title.
