Fire Emblem Is Headed to Consoles Again

Fire Emblem Is Headed to Consoles Again

The Fire Emblem Nintendo Direct was packed full of announcements. One was rather small and discreet, though. It turns out there’s more than one Fire Emblem headed to the Switch. In addition to Fire Emblem Warriors , which is headed to the system in 2017, there’ll be a mainline entry in 2018.

The next major Fire Emblem game is currently only known as Fire Emblem . It’s in development for the Switch. The big news is, it will be the first main entry to hit a console since 2007, when Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn showed up in the Wii. It’ll be the sixteenth release in the series, since Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia is coming to the 3DS in May.

This is a big deal. Fire Emblem has become a huge series. Almost every Nintendo console has an entry in the series. The N64 and Wii U are the only ones to not get installments. As good as Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE is, it’s a spin-off and doesn’t count!
