There’s Going to Be a New Micro Machines Game

There’s Going to Be a New Micro Machines Game

Do you remember Micro Machines? They were these teeny, tiny cars from Galoob, then Hasbro, that were really popular in the 1980s and ’90s. They’ve faded in and out of popularity over the years, recently making a comeback with a Star Wars: The Force Awakens set, but now they’re really getting a place in the limelight. Codemasters is bringing Micro Machines World Series to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on April 21.

As you can guess, Micro Machines World Series is a racing game. There will be 12 vehicles, with other Hasbro toy brands making cameo appearances. So, say, expect G.I. Joe and Nerf to be there. Four people can race locally, thanks to split-screen multiplayer. If you hop online, though, then up to 12 people can race together.

Here’s a trailer to show how Micro Machines World Series looks.

As crazy as this may sound, it actually hasn’t been that long since the last Micro Machines-inspired console game. Micro Machines V4 was on the PlayStation 2, Xbox, PlayStation Portable, DS, and PC. Considering games inspired by the toys have appeared on the NES, SNES, Genesis, Game Gear, Game Boy, Nintendo 64, Game Boy Color, PlayStation, GameCube, and Game Boy Advance, it seems only right that it makes a comeback.
