Destiny Won’t Be Your Valentine This Year

Destiny Won’t Be Your Valentine This Year

Do you love holiday events in your games? The ones that give you an opportunity to enjoy a different gameplay mode or earn some unexpected rewards? Well, if you do, then Destiny isn’t the game for you this year. It turns out Bungie has decided to forgo its traditional Valentine’s Day event. Crimson Days are canceled!

As way of explanation, Bungie says it won’t be offering Crimson Days, where a 2v2 Elimination Mode and additional quests join the lineup, because it is focusing on new and different things. Unfortunately, those new and different things won’t be arriving next month. The Live team for Destiny is working on an update that will be out this spring instead.

While I can understand wanting to give people new things, would it really have been so difficult to recycle last year’s event? I’m sure there are people who missed Crimson Days in Destiny last year. Maybe ones who only just recently purchased Destiny: The Collection? You think a company would want to give people a reason to keep loading up and playing the game as often as possible.
