Yooka-Laylee Backers Able to Switch to the Switch

Yooka-Laylee Backers Able to Switch to the Switch

Back when the Nintendo Switch was announced, there was a flurry of information surrounding it. Games were discussed, both for the Wii U and Switch. One of them was Yooka-Laylee , the Kickstarter platformer from former Rare staff. The Wii U version was canceled, a Switch version announced, and we received a promise that people who had wanted a Wii U version would be able to change. Now, we have a better estimate of when we’ll get that option.

Playtonic’s Twitter responded to the question with a window. Before January 2017 ends, backers will have an opportunity to swap platforms. Details weren’t offered regarding whether people could go from a Wii U copy to Xbox One or PlayStation 4 one, but there will definitely be an option to go to a Switch instead.

I wonder when other Wii U Kickstarter games will jump ship? There’s already been some talk regarding Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night , which was planned to come to the Wii U and is arriving in 2018 now. And Shaq-Fu: A Legend Reborn was supposed to come to the older console, too.
