Don’t Expect Resident Evil on the Switch Soon

Capcom’s been pretty good about providing Nintendo platforms with Resident Evil games. I mean, it’s always been there for us, over the last decade or so. Yet, with the Switch, we won’t see that sort of support right away. Express Online spoke to Masachika Kawata, Resident Evil 7’ s producer, and he said there’s nothing to talk about yet.

Kawata’s exact quote was a little more succinct. He told the site, “I’m looking forward to the possibilities of the system itself, but we have no plans at the moment regarding Resident Evil on Switch.” He did say he thought it was unique. That means we won’t see any immediate port of Resident Evil 7 to the system.

While this may sound bad now, try to think positive. The Switch is super new. Capcom is going to support it, with Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers coming to the console this year. This could be as simple as the company waiting until something is more finalized to reveal a new project.
