Square Enix has developed no shortage of smartphone titles over the last few years. From the nostalgic Final Fantasy Record Keeper to its modern counterparts Final Fantasy Brave Exvius and Mobius Final Fantasy , the company continues to churn out “gacha” titles at an astonishing pace.
The most visually sophisticated of these titles, Mobius Final Fantasy , is making the leap from mobile phones to Steam. On February 6, you’ll be able to download the game on your PC; it retains the free-to-play model of the phone version, with in-app purchases that grant energy needed to clear missions as well as tickets that give a random chance to acquire rare abilities. The PC version features upgraded visuals that run at 1920×1080 resolution, and you can transfer save data back and forth from the mobile version.
As part of the launch celebration, Square Enix is also kicking off a collaboration event with the upcoming Final Fantasy VII Remake . Starting on February 7, you’ll be able to fight alongside Cloud Strife in the series of missions set in Midgar. FFVII fans will enjoy that, I imagine. Mobius Final Fantasy isn’t the type of game for me, but as long as you’re listening to me, I do urge you to at least check out its excellent soundtrack.
