Fans Turn Star Wars: Battlefront II into III

Fans Turn Star Wars: Battlefront II into III

Star Wars: Battlefront II was an amazing game. I mean, the Star Wars: Battlefront we have on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC is fine, but it doesn’t compare to that classic game in some ways. It just makes you wish LucasArts had been able to make Star Wars: Battlefront III . Fortunately, thanks to a new fan mod called Star Wars: Battlefront III Legacy , we get a little taste of what could have been.

Here’s how the mod works. El_Fabricio, [GT]Anakin, and Jedimoose32 took Star Wars: Battlefront II and began turning it to what they hoped the third game would be. The fan project is in development and unfinished, but an open beta is available. People get 1&2 Flag, Fighter Squadron, Hero Assault, Supremacy and other modes. In those modes, there will be content taken from the first six Star Wars movies, Clone Wars , and Galactic Civil War . Over 30 heroes have been added so far, as well as space to ground combat that lets you wage war on foot or in fighters.

But talk is cheap. There’s a new trailer for the second open beta released this month that shows the hard work these fans put into Star Wars: Battlefront III Legacy.

Doesn’t this make you want to go back to Star Wars: Battlefront II again? Like, even if you don’t also grab this mod, the video is a reminder of how great that Star Wars game was.
