The Terry Crews Overwatch saga continues. Last year, a massive campaign took place. People suggested he’d make a good Doomfist on Reddit, should the character be added to the game. He showed up to enthusiastically say he’d love to play Doomfist. He went to visit Blizzard’s headquarters and pose in front of an Overwatch sign. Now, he’s actually released an “audition” trailer.
Crews’ Overwatch audition for Doomfist was released by Yahoo eSports. He reads a few cheesy lines while trying hard not to crack a smile, all while set to some promotional clips for the game referring to the villain. He really gets into character.
At this point, you have to wonder if we’ve gone past Crews having fun and trying to get the role, and instead we've moved into some sort of actual ad campaign. Maybe Blizzard has already signed Crews, is preparing Doomfist as Overwatch’s next character, and is encouraging this to get people hyped up? I hope that’s the case!
