Call of Duty 2017 Will Be More Traditional

Call of Duty 2017 Will Be More Traditional

How did you feel about Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare ? Did you feel like the futuristic and outer space setting was a little too much? Well, apparently Activision now agrees with you. Activision talked about the future of the series in its financial report for the fourth quarter 2016 and says that Sledgehammer Games’ 2017 installment is going to bring Call of Duty “back to its roots.”

This means more traditional soldiers and shooting in the next Call of Duty game. Why? Because the fans had spoken. When talking about Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare , Thomas Tippl, Activision’s chief operating officer, said, “for a portion of our audience, the space setting just didn’t resonate.” As a result, the game didn’t meet their sales expectations.

I suppose that next Call of Duty will be revealed in a few months. Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare was unveiled on May 2, 2016. We could end up seeing this next entry in about three months. I’m hoping for a World War II theme. What about you?
