Kingdom Hearts PS4 Ports Have Issues

Kingdom Hearts PS4 Ports Have Issues

Mass Effect isn’t the only big release facing severe technical issues. Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 Remix is also coming out this month for the PlayStation 4. It’s a massive collection of almost every Kingdom Hearts title to date. This new version of these collections has much faster load times than its PlayStation 3 counterparts, but that’s about the only benefit.

Turns out, Kingdom Hearts running at 60 frames per second is not a good thing. The game was built for 30 FPS, and bumping it up straight-up breaks a lot of the game. The actual physics of the Kingdom Hearts engine cannot deal with the frame rate, and causes boss fights to go off the script. Certain moves even no longer function as intended.

In addition to these new problems, some of which make difficult sections even more difficult, many of the glitches found in the original games and the PlayStation 3 remasters are also still present in Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 Remix . Either Square Enix isn’t paying attention, or this PlayStation 4 collection was a rush job to milk a few extra bucks out of a particularly ravenous fanbase.
