Horizon: Zero Dawn came out of the gate strong, and now Sony has the numbers to back that up. The PlayStation 4 exclusive has sold 2.6 million copies worldwide in the first two weeks of its release. This counts physical copies, as well as digital ones sold through the PS Store. These figures bode well for the developer Guerrilla Games, who is enjoying the “biggest debut” in their history. This also makes Horizon: Zero Dawn Sony’s best-selling new IP.
The Managing Director at Guerrilla, Hermen Hulst had this to say about Horizon: Zero Dawn’ s success, “We’re thrilled that Horizon: Zero Dawn has been embraced by critics and players alike. Developing the game was a labor of love, so it’s extremely satisfying to see that it elicits the same passion and enthusiasm from the gaming public that we felt during its development.”
Hulst briefly mentioned that there will be a story expansion for Horizon: Zero Dawn , but didn’t let slip any details on this. So check back as we keep an eye out for more news!
