Fire Emblem Echoes Gets a Limited Edition

Fire Emblem Echoes Gets a Limited Edition

The Fire Emblem renaissance continues this morning with a new announcement from Nintendo. If you like Fire Emblem enough to drop coin on swag, well, here you go. Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia now has a limited edition set on the way.

It’s not as extravagant as the limited edition set for Fire Emblem Fates , but the stuff included is still pretty cool. For $59.99, you get an art book, a music sampler CD, some reversible cover art, and a set of pins. The cover art and pins are the star of the show for me. First of all, the pins are based on the classic Fire Emblem sprite style, and I imagine they look great in person. You get three pins: main characters Alm and Celia, as well as classic series hero Marth.

The cover art is not shown in the press release, but what it is said to be is pretty exciting. Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia is actually a remake of Fire Emblem Gaiden , a Famicom release that never saw a North American localization in its original form. The reversible cover art is apparently based on the original Famicom box art. I’m a suck for old videogame box art, and the Famicom line was home to some awesome stuff.

Along with the limited edition, amiibo figures of the two aforementioned protagonists will also launch alongside the game. They’ll unlock extra dungeons and temporary allies. Amiibo will function differently based on which ones are scanned into the game, but all Fire Emblem characters have extra functionality in the form of cameos.

No word yet on when pre-orders for the limited edition go live, but knowing Nintendo, it’ll go fast. Keep your eyes on Twitter!
