Ghostbusters Comes to PSVR Out of Nowhere

Ghostbusters Comes to PSVR Out of Nowhere

Ghostbusters: Now Hiring , is a new game for the PlayStation VR that appears to have come out of nowhere. You know, like a ghost. Turns out it’s intended to be an episodic series, and the first episode is called “Firehouse.” Senior vice president of VR at Sony Pictures, Jake Zim, said the first episode is almost a test to gauge interest, making it sound like further episodes aren’t necessarily guaranteed unless Firehouse does well.

The Ghostbusters: Now Hiring episode lasts for about ten minutes and puts players in the shoes of a new Ghostbuster recruit. It lets you play around with the controls and explore the infamous Ghostbusters headquarters.

According to io9, Ivan Reitman, director of the original Ghostbusters film, was involved in the game’s development. He’s also involved in further entries in the franchise in other mediums, as the Ghostbusters brand is set to continue after the recent live-action movie. An animated film is currently on track for theaters in 2019 or 2020, followed by more live-action content.

Considering the lukewarm reception to the recent movie, gauging interest for Ghostbusters: Now Hiring might be a little difficult.
