Final Fantasy XIV Free Trial Busted Wide Open

Final Fantasy XIV Free Trial Busted Wide Open

Like them or not, one of the best things about Square-Enix’s MMO sector is how open it is to trying different things to bring in more players. In the latest move to improve and make the Final Fantasy XIV experience more enticing, the Free Trail program has been massively expanded, most importantly no longer having a time limit.

Before, trying out Final Fantasy XIV meant you had 14 days to test it out before being locked behind the old paywall. Now that time limit is no longer in place, and players now have access to the game’s content until level 35, can try out the various jobs, the first 10 levels of Deep Dungeon and even check out the Gold Saucer stuff.

All of this can be done without a pretty restrictive time limit hanging over everything. The Final Fantasy MMOs are all about taking your time with things, especially early on. The games are real lookers, with tons of effort put in to the look and feel of the game world. I look back on my time with Final Fantasy XI fondly, able to get what I wanted to out of the game at my own pace, thanks to level scaling and whatnot.

Being able to dig fairly deep into Final Fantasy XIV without the pressure to cram in as much as possible in a short window of time should be a great benefit to attracting new, paying players. Also, anyone with a pre-existing Free Trial account should be able to go back in with their previous characters, as all accounts have been re-opened. The Free Trial Client can be downloaded directly from the PlayStation Store.
