Rocket League May Come to Nintendo Switch

The vehicular soccer game Rocket League is in the news for a couple reasons today, first and foremost because of its recent server issues. Dave Hagewood, the Psyonix CEO, has said the PsyNet backend and server issues, which are causing matchmaking problems and outages, are “unacceptable” and the developer is working on improving quality and performance.

The pressing weight of additional players is the biggest factor for these online server and matchmaking issues. There are over 25 million registered Rocket League players, and that base reached that number by spiking 40 percent this year. A hotfix should address some problems soon, but others may be around for a while as the developer increases its online services team.

It’s safe to say that Psyonix is taking these problems seriously and they will be working hard to correct them for all the Rocket League players soon. In other news, the developer is also seriously looking at whether or not to bring Rocket League to the Nintendo Switch. According to Psyonix’s Vice President Jeremy Dunham, the company is looking at technical requirements and demand. They’re evaluating the possibility.

Would you love to see Rocket League on the Nintendo Switch?!
