Twitch Expanding Stream Quality Options

Twitch Expanding Stream Quality Options

Twitch has upped its game in terms of video quality, announcing streams can now run at 1080p and 60 fps. This update also comes paired with a bunch of new options on either end of a stream as well. In a blog post, Twitch says that the bitrate limitations, previously set at 3.5, have been removed. Quality options are also getting an overhaul, giving viewers more options than before.

Twitch is also rolling out a Transcode V2 indicator for Twitch Inspector. This will allow streamers to capture data from individual streams in order to not only offer more options, but also keep tabs on quality assurance, testing and more.

For new streamers, or people looking for help in taking in and learning about these updates, Twitch has also launched a new site with educational materials for streaming tech. Hopefully this breaks down barriers even more and allows gamers to get in on streaming while the getting continues to be good.
