Day One EA Access Subscribers Getting Gifts

Day One EA Access Subscribers Getting Gifts

According to a report from ThisGenGaming, people who have subscribed to the EA Access service since it launched are receiving thank you gifts in the mail from EA. Inside the gift box is supposedly a voucher for a few months of free EA Access membership, as well as a 2TB hard drive. It also comes with a thank you note, no doubt full of colorful language thanking members for their contribution.

EA Access, if you’ll recall, is EA’s Xbox One subscription service. You pay a monthly fee of $4.99 or kick in $29.99 per a year, then get access to a vault’s worth of Xbox 360 and Xbox One games from EA that you can download and play on your console. Of course, once you stop subscribing, you lose access to said games.

This is a pretty interesting development, since physical rewards for loyalty-type programs seem to have dwindled if not died out in recent years. This is especially true when it comes to video games. Rest in peace, Club Nintendo.

What do you think about surprise incentives for subscription services? Let us know in the comments.
