No need to bust out your old consoles for this news! There’s been a huge resurgence of old games being re-released on new consoles lately, and this beloved franchise is finally getting its turn. Just in case you didn’t read the headline for some reason (shame on you!), the franchise coming back is Jak and Daxter ! A bunch of classic Jak and Daxter games from the PlayStation 2 era are headed to the PlayStation 4 in 2017. We don’t have a solid release date yet (boo) but we do know that the re-releases will be digital PS2 Classics downloads arriving in the PS Store sometime later this year.
The games that we’ll be seeing hopefully very soon are as follows: Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy , Jak II , Jak 3 , and Jak X: Combat Racing . All four are going to be remastered in 1080p, of course, and will have the Shareplay, Remote Play, and Activity feed features available. However, Jax X: Combat Racing will only include same-system splitscreen multiplayer. No, there will be no online matches available.
But hey, the good news still remains! Jak and Daxter are coming to the PS4 soon-ish, yay!
