Mega Man Cartoon Partnering with Cartoon Network

Mega Man Cartoon Partnering with Cartoon Network

The Mega Man cartoon was announced a while ago, but now it’s about ready to start production. This means it’s the perfect time for another new announcement! We now know where the show will air. The producers of the show, DHX Media and Densu Entertainment, have announced a partnership with Cartoon Network.

Mega Man will air exclusively on Cartoon Network. The show is a definite departure from the classic Capcom version, both in style and in presentation. In the Cartoon Network version, Mega Man is Aki Light, a part-robot, part-preteen boy doing robot superhero stuff in Silicon Valley. Mega Man is being produced at Man of Action Entertainment, the same studio responsible for shows like Ben 10 and Ultimate Spider-Man , among others.

Will the Mega Man cartoon bring the blue bomber back to public relevance? We have seen something like that happen with the recent Pac-Man and Sonic the Hedgehog cartoons. Although being in my late 20’s, it’s hard to tell how much impact those shows have had on children. There’s definitely merchandise out there, so Mega Man fans will likely at least be able to pick up some action figures if a decent, new game doesn’t come as a result of this.
