Puyo Puyo Tetris Has Streaming Guidelines

Puyo Puyo Tetris Has Streaming Guidelines

Hot on the heels of a ton of controversy surrounding Persona 5 video content, Sega’s Japanese branch also seems to be cracking down on Puyo Puyo Tetris . The game has been out for years in Japan, but it getting additional attention due to its new version on Nintendo Switch.

The post outlining these guidelines is in Japanese, but Google Translate gets the job done well enough. Sega is totally forbidding profit-oriented streaming, saying that any personal, non-profit blogs, websites or social media pages are fine, and anything otherwise is not okay. Sega also doesn’t want any websites of questionable morals, whatever that means, to host Puyo Puyo Tetris content, and anything that “unfairly harms the honor and credibility” of the game. Again, that’s Google Translate talking, so take that with a grain of salt.

Sega also has a list of specific, in-game content it doesn’t want in video content. Specifically, it doesn’t want any spoilers and animations from the game’s single-player Adventure mode shown. People recording need to avoid the campaign.

Clearly, something is going down in Japan regarding monetized streaming, as well as video sharing in general. Sega, remember, also owns Atlus, the company behind the Persona series and that recording controversy.
