Nintendo Switch Getting Minecraft on May 11

Nintendo Switch Getting Minecraft on May 11

Nintendo confirmed a partnership with Microsoft last January to bring Minecraft to the Switch. It was only yesterday that they let us know when that will be happening. May 11 is when Minecraft: Nintendo Switch Edition gets its digital release. A physical copy will release later. There’s no solid date on that version yet, but at least we know it’s coming!

This version of Minecraft will have multiplayer for up to eight people online. The local version will support up to four players with split-screen play. Switch Minecraft also supports the Switch Pro Controller. So if Minecraft with Joy-Cons isn’t your thing, you have options!

Minecraft on the Switch will release with one other special feature, the Super Mario Mash-Up Pack. This includes skins, textures, music, and a world inspired by Mario’s games. It looks like it will retail for $59.99.
