Sega Teases PC Port of Vanquish

Sega Teases PC Port of Vanquish

In today’s weirdly minute and WTF news, there’s an update to the new PC release of Bayonetta that might have given us a clue as to another game release. A 22 KB update released for Bayonetta adds a file to the game’s Extras folder. That file is an avatar of Sam Gideon.

For non- Vanquish fans, Sam Gideon is the main character of the 2010 third-person shooter directed by Shinji Mikami. Vanquish was a sleeper agent of a game that released on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. From its release, fans have been calling for it to port to PCs. And seeing as how Platinum Games’ Bayonetta was recently brought to PCs, it stands to reason that they’re going back through their history.

The addition of Sam Gideon’s avatar to the Bayonetta game files is a quirky way to tease a new game release. However, it’s an effective one, as fans are going crazy hoping for news of a Vanquish PC release. There’s nothing official from Platinum or Sega yet, but here’s hoping!
