In a press release, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announced a partnership with GameStop, and a tournament for the upcoming Injustice 2. The event is called the Injustice 2 GameStop Hometown Heroes tournament. Interestingly enough, it is being referred to by Warner Bros. as an “esports program.”
The Injustice 2 tournament will be operated by ESL. The qualifier tournaments, which will be open, will be held online starting June 4. Regional Finals will be a group of eight tournaments held in GameStop store locations on August 12. The Injustice 2 GameStop Hometown Heroes Finals will be held at the GameStop Managers Expo in Las Vegas on August 27.
Injustice 2 drops on May 16, so players will have less than a month to figure this bad boy out well enough to win a tournament. Of course, many pro-level players probably have had access to the game already by this point. So good luck, everyone!
