Play Elder Scrolls Online Morrowind on May 22

Play Elder Scrolls Online Morrowind on May 22

Bethesda is doing something a little interesting with the Morrowind expansion for The Elder Scrolls Online . There’s a sort of early access period happening for the expansion, but only on the PC and Mac platforms. Those playing on other platforms will have to wait for the official release of the DLC on June 6.

But for those lucky enough to be playing on PCs and Macs, you’ll be able to access Morrowind as early as May 22. You’ll obviously have to have purchased the digital expansion for the game or the collector’s edition to be able to play this The Elder Scrolls Online add-on early. Those who want to grab the physical version of the collector’s edition have to contact the game’s support team to get going.

To be clear, this is not a beta, and this is not a test. Starting May 22, if you own The Elder Scroll’s Online Morrowind in any shape or form, you will be able to begin playing it. You’ll have access to the entire expansion, and when it releases for everyone on June 6 your progress will not be reset or deleted.

It’s safe to say this is a way for Bethesda to test the DLC and do some last minute tuning/changes, while still giving the consumers something to show for it. But hey, who are we to complain if it means being able to play early, am I right?
